Ian was born in Kensington
in 1957, and grew up on a farm in Surrey, then among the yachts on the Solent.
School was at Wellington College in Berkshire, before reading Physics and coming
to Christ at Oxford. Ian led his
college CU, and gradually understood that God was calling him to ordained
ministry.
Jane grew up in Horsham where her mother still lives, all the family members of
the Baptist Church. She went up to Oxford to read Biochemistry, where she
met Ian at Oxford Bus Station! We married in Oxford in 1980, moved to
Nottingham for Vicar training, and served curacies in North Hampshire and
Southampton, then ten years in Bournemouth, seven years near Farnborough, and
three years at Wonersh, Guildford.
Jenny (23) works for Accenture, contracted to Vodafone in Newbury. Rachel (20)
is reading Product Design at Brunel University in Uxbridge, Middlesex.
Although her term finishes tomorrow, she plans to be here tonight.
Among other things, we like singing and music.
Jane and Ian help to lead Marriage Encounter weekends, and we’re also
very keen on Alpha courses and New Wine summer camps; and of course Jesus Christ
himself!
