Tom is married to Pippa with four children: David, Henry, Poppy and Simon. The boys are at Holmwood House school in Colchester and Poppy is at St.Mary's school in Colchester.

Tom was born in Aldham and is an Almshouses Trustee and a Parish Councillor. His father also held these positions.

His "office job" is in financial services.
